Globe Cinema - 552 N Garrison Street
A large blue world globe marks New Jerusalem's newest and air-conditioned theater. The manager prefers versions of the classics, documentaries, and other vehicles which conform to the maxim over the entrance, "Instruct and Entertain". Newsreels are updated continually; there is currently a rather strange scene in an otherwise innocuous film about New Guinea primitives playing. Always two cartoons Friday-Saturday. Admission is 25 cents for adults, 10 cents for children. Open 6-11 p.m. Monday-Friday, noon-11 p.m. on Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Special show for the kids on Saturday afternoon.
The Globe is currently playing Oklahoma! the musical film based on the 1943 musical starring Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones.
