The Maid's Lament Bar

The Maid's Lament has been in service, except for prohibition, since 1872, and it is, in fact, the locus around which the hotel was built, rather than the other way around. The Lament is, simply put, a dive. The drinks are cheap and harsh and the clientele not much better. It does, however, happen to be the haven to New Jerusalem's few 'working girls', most of whom keep rooms at the American to live in and take their clients to. Currently there are four girls plying their trade on the north side of the river. They are all independent, working without a pimp or madam, and they are close friends who look out for each other; mess with one of them, and you'll end up having to deal with them all.   One of the ladies, Honey Combs, her real name is Agnes Combs, has a very loving cat named Lady Henrietta, a tough as nails, street smart, Domestic Shorthair. Lady Henrietta has a heart of gold but is a practical, no-nonsense cat. If something is going on around Fish Row, Lady Henrietta probably has heard about it.
