Common Dogs - On or around the Common
Typically found around the Common, though the cart does move pretty regularly, Common Dogs does a brisk business for much of the year. Selling hot dogs with all the trimmings, the cart usually also has bottles of soda as well as seasonal items like hot cider in the fall or lemonade in the spring and early summer.
This cart is almost constantly on the move seeking out the latest hot spots for crowds throughout New Jerusalem. As such, it comes into contact with all sorts of people at a variety of events and may be a handy witness to happenings all around the city.
Melvin Low, 35 own, operates and pushes Common Dogs about town. He is a veteran of World War II who upon returning home from the war found it hard to fit back in and make his way in life. The solution to this was Common Dogs, an idea that was inspired by his beloved Dachshund, Hot Dog. The two can be found all about town, and Melvin is as friendly with animals as he is with people - a spare dog is always available for a hungry stray.
Hot Dog is a cheerful little fellow who is always ready to listen to others' troubles and offer remarkably good advice to those who need it.
Recently Melvin and Hot Dog have befriended Ike and Mike of the Water Street Gang. This will soon cause problems as The Boss has a plan to 'knock over' the hot dog cart and plunder it in a daring lightning fast strike. Ike and Mike will balk at this, and it is unsure how the whole matter will turn out in the end.
