Downstairs holds five fire trucks (one hook-and-ladder, one pumper, two hose engines, one chemical engine). Nine firemen usually sleep upstairs. New Jerusalem has reciprocal firefighting agreements with Salem and other area towns.
The fire station’s truck bay floor is slowly sinking under the weight of the fire engines, requiring costly repairs funded by a proposed tax override. It is a political hot-topic in town.
The fire chief is 62-year-old Benijah Adams. 
Paige the Dalmatian also lives here. She is a loyal, brave, and courageous individual who has a special love for all children, and she will be willing to aid in any situation that involves children at risk. Because of her life lived among and working aside firemen, Paige is unique among dogs in that she has no fear of (although a lot of respect for) fire.
