U.S. Post Office - 487 N Peabody Avenue

The only point of federal power in New Jerusalem, the Postmaster is Donald MacFeely, 61. He oversees a dozen office workers and sixteen mail carriers. Postmen begin to case their mail at 4 a.m. and have begun their rounds by 6 a.m. Delivery time varies throughout town. The postal windows are not open on Saturdays, but there are Saturday mail deliveries, and mail to post office boxes is cased that day. Passports may also be acquired here.   Postal windows are open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday, closed for Easter, Fourth of July, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Access to postal boxes is always available.   Harry Slocum works as a postman and has been delivering mail for the U.S. Postal Service for years. His current area is Downtown, which has the advantage of not being far from the post office itself, but over the years he has walked through most parts of New Jerusalem and knows the area well. He can also recount tales of what he’s seen whilst delivering letters, concentrating on the humorous rather than the strange, and Harry has seen some strange things. Harry is an avid reader, and after his round is done he will often spend an hour or two in the public library.
