Asbury M.E. Church - 640 Boggs Street

Founded in 1789 by "Bishop" Jonathan Asbury (along with hundreds of others around the same time), this house of worship is one of the most attended churches in town. The original wooden structure burned in 1815 and was replaced by the existing brick building a year later. Archives therefore contain records only back until 1815. Renovations have taken place periodically over the years to keep the church in good repair and to meet the needs of worshippers.
Dr. Ezekiel Wallace, the pastor, has warned certain members of his congregation against joining any reorganized churches out of Sethwich.
