Granary Wharf District
The water-front district of Gathetoken, upstream of Gathe Bridge and most prominent because it holds the City Granary. This bustling commercial district is alive with both denizens of the City and the bargemen and other Traders that travel Down-River to sell their wares.
The waterfront itself is crowded with wharfs and landing stages - Two are public and free to access - The Granary Wharf (being a specialist grain-handling affair) and the River Steps. These (especially the River Steps) are always crowded and access can be all but impossible. The remaining wharves are private - but berths are more reliable. Even given that they require payment of a docking fee, many find it better to use these as the cost of time wasted waiting for space at the Steps can be more than the fees at the private wharfs.
