Citadel District

The Citadel District of Gathetoken is the easternmost district of the City, and comprises The Old Walls atop their crag and the Sea Road.

The road from the city to the Citadel is lined with the cages of the Menagerie while the Sea Road, between the Crag and the River, is the location of many prestigious businesses and residences.

This district is one inhabited by the rich and powerful of the city. The lack of representation on the Council should not be mistaken for a lack of influence

Government

The Citadel District has no representation on the Council of the Corporation of Gathetoken, but the Priests of Harmony and War are members.

Infrastructure

Both the Citadel and several of the properties in this district have their own water supplies in the form of wells and/or rain-water cisterns

The Sea Road runs into the District and leaves via the Sea Gate. This road is paved and residents of the district ensure it is swept daily before the Sea Gate is opened.

Several of the residences on the Sea Road are perched one the river-bank and a tradition of allowing climbing roses to adorn their riverside walls (for added security) also means these structures are quite colourful during the summer months.

History

The Old Walls of the Citadel itself were constructed by Token's son within the first summer of their arrival.
