the "seawall mountains" are lovely
in a way this includes "matshuc zaal" – the site of a brelish mobile fortress overcome and wrecked by raiders some time back and now covered in writing and emblems from people and groups passing through
bell added the emblem of the heart & hammer and medya talked me into adding my brand near that ... which i suppose might amuse anyone else who recognizes either
after the mountains there hasn't been much to see aside from rocks and sand
and bandits
we really didn't want a fight but they did
they used dinosaurs and arrows and magic and the undeniable power of combining boulders and gravity
they managed to disable the hardback so there i was fixing the drive path in the middle of all that mayhem
we made it through but bell and i spent most of the evening infusing the hardbacks with a spell to erase our tracks as we go
but the tracks we'd already left were enough for another clot of bandits to catch up to us early this morning
the worst part was when medya accidentally collided with one of their "glidewings" in mid-air – relic had to rush her into the hardback
nothing tears at my heart like seeing medya in pain and i don't know what i'd do if i couldn't heal her so quickly ... but i can and i did so she's all right and she promises this won't make her nervous about flying
i was so angry at the bandits i used my "tug" spell to pull the dinosaur riders' saddles right out from under them so they'd fall off
that's what ended the fight
so today will be split between patching up the giant claw marks across one hardback and finishing the "pass without trace" infusions
we've nearly run out of our repair supplies so it's a good thing we're not far from the city – really an ever-changing trading camp – called "rhukaan draal"
i hope they'll be friendly
i hope there will be safety in numbers
