the good news: leali and aejar convinced house cannith to approve the next expedition into the mournland!
the bad news: it won't be for a couple months yet because first they have to build something to get us out there safely?
the could-go-either-way news: they insist on sending a representative with us ... which may make it tricky to get access to the "proprietary" forged schematics we're actually after
it's the most dreadful trip i've ever been excited for
today the heart and hammer received a visit from nolan toranak's cousin vilik
he tried to convince bell that she was dangerously overdue on a huge amount of taxes and she'd probably be better off selling the place to him
after he left bell called sava who arranged for her barrister "tessa sil adradar" to visit and look over the paperwork he left
she confirmed that most of it was nonsense – the taxes are much less than vilik stated and nowhere near due yet
he's likely trying to intimidate bell because she's trying to unseat nolan and reveal his schemes
tessa says clan toranak is known for shady business dealings so this is no surprise
the address on the packet of paperwork is the office of "grenda tordannon" who is also nolan's accountant ... so she'll have ledgers that can prove their wrongdoings
perhaps we can convince her to help us?
perhaps the watch will overlook her involvement if she does?
rakela suggests we improve the wards around the h&h – we haven't revised them since we moved in! – so i'll work with zer' and bell on that
she also says that we're coming to the attention of more folks who don't have our best interests in mind so we might do well to find personal defenses against scrying
we'll need some very strong magic for that
none of us are any good at being subtle
