a brisk run and a blueberry oatcake were the right combination to help me calm down this morning
when i got back to the h&h the others explained that jorlanna did manage to get the patent but that it also was "pending" and that if prior art shows up within a month it will be cancelled
fortunately my paper was accepted a little over a day earlier also i'm about one-eighth prior art by weight so it'll probably be fine
probable isn't certain but i'll just have to cope
later in that article there's an interview with prince "ir'wynarn aejar" and how he lost an arm to some exotic pet that got loose in the royal castle and he hopes this new magic could help him
now i want to know why anyone keeps a pet that can harm them that badly
if an animal dislikes and distrusts you that much perhaps don't confine them in your home—
oh flowersauce
i just realized they'll immediately try to "augment" him
it won't work
not yet
quick explanation
every forged matrix is made up of a lot of tiny spells that operate in unique rhythms – "cadences" – built on the overlap of multiple different fundamental "tempos"
every grown being has inherent life magic that also follows specific rhythms
in all cases cast magic follows and takes on the caster's cadence
self-harmonization only works because the infused matrix already aligns correctly and i was very clear about that in the paper
if the cadences don't align they "tug" each other away from true and this is guaranteed to cause lots of problems
i don't know how bad or how fast but i have zero doubt that it would be worse than what morran went through
so that's why medya's still waiting for her proper talons
and why aejar may be in mortal danger if they try this on him and i'm not even close to knowing how to help
need to get word to jorlanna and aejar ... somehow
