Afternoon Events

by Tink Coppertail

After the fun of the archery, I thought it was best to give Bessy some time to stretch her legs and graze a bit. I overheard some talk of bands of fey leaving Leshraka and wandering the areas. Seems strange to me, they usually stay in the forest doing their own thing. Nothing to really worry about at the moment. I think I'll catch most of my sleep here so I can work through the night, a nice sunny nap before the parade and feast.
After that nice nap, I tied Bessy to the cart and gave her a nice log to munch on, that'll keep her busy for awhile. Now to go watch the parade and the spectacle they always put on. The Emerald clan, best known for their agriculture from the Grenwell province. Some of the best cooks too. I always liked their roasts and their drinks are always fire. Sapphire clan seems to be showing off again with that giant 4 or 5ft gem. I wonder if it is real or if it is just some glass? Eh, they got plenty of wealth from all the pearls they harvest. Also some greatest fishermen and fine catches I've heard tales from. Of course Clan Dire are making a show with their boat of warriors and battle cries. Ad last to roll by is a heavily decorated float with a large chest on front with just as heavily armed guards around what seems to be one of the Garricks. I wonder if it's the king or the prince, either way it must be nice to be able to party out here at the festival.
After all the floats rounded the market center, tables, chairs, and food cam flooding out from under the floats, alleyways, and nearby buildings for the feast! Garrick gave a great speech for everyone to come and eat. After which, he tossed a goblet on the ground and BOOM best looking food around appeared. Imma have to find that crafting recipe sometime because gods-damn that stuff was good! As good as it was who could resist those Emerald roasts, that Sapphire fish, and the Topaz deserts! It was too bad I got intercepted from a whole cake, I mean, I would have shared... I'm just glad the winds were in my favor for being able to Mage Hand everything without having to get up and loose my spot. I'm glad I don't HAVE to eat with my ring, but who could resist this fest! Each year I eat enough for the whole year and regret it every time, ah the holidays. Even seems to have brought together this random band of people that RRRoshin has grouped up. Interesting people these are.
They nailed it with the show this year. The smoky dragon lighting off the fireworks display was tasteful in my opinion. The finale with each of the clan colors was a nice touch as well. Oh, another one of this crew might be a good, volunteer, for my tests. Seems Skrel has interrupted some shady dealings and wants to go back for more. Now I hate thieves more than the next guy, but I have yet to get a good read on this one. Maybe after spending a bit more time watching him. The combat tournaments would be a good place to get a read on him as well as the others. If nothing else it should be entertaining. But for the time being I have work to do and limited time to do it. Those rat things had to have been created or transported or something to get into the library and the fact that their blood caused visions in all of us who touched it makes me think there is something arcane about them. Tonight I will put together one of my devices to use Blood Transcription on what I collected. Maybe I'll learn something, maybe I'll get a better look at what the others saw, maybe I'll pass out for a few days, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

~RAW NOTES~
took Bessy to field, people talking about fey leaving forest and wandering bands, took a nap in the sun before the parade,
clan emerald- agriculture from Grenwell, great cooks and tavernkeepers,
clan sapphire- seafaring fishers, pearls, polished stones, display a "real" 4-5ft diameter gem,
clan dire- Viking like display,
last float was very heavily decorated and guarded carrying one of the Garricks (king or prince).
food and tables and everything came poring out of the floats and everywhere to set up the feast, gave a great speech for all to come eat! then tossed a goblet to appear the best looking of everything for food! mmmm topaz disserts, emerald roasts, sapphire fish, eating enough for the year! seems my fellow assigned adventurers found each other. now seems time for the show, they nailed it this year with the dragon lighting, pretty tasteful imo, that last one was nice with all the clan houses colors.
sounds like the rest of them are going to be in one of the combat events, might be fun to watch after I deal with that monster blood,
now Skrel wants help for a "job", sounds like another "volunteer" for my uses with Leo.
