The working outside and chatting with Skrel cleared up somethings. His excessive amount of spell usage is due to his dealings with an abyssal power. To say that he has similar limitations to other magic users that he can push further at a cost from another plane. After about fourish hours and acquaintance of Kniana's showed up to my dismay. I had asked her not to give our local with this whole trust thing going on. Turned out my annoyance was misplace as it was Tel who told. Well, I only sort of listened to what they were talking about. It did peake my intrest when they started talking of the Azure Spider Silk. Clan Dire had caught the refiner, she didn't know the name but said they were from the Black Daggers gang. Lily looked a little nervous at the mention. My guess that she got into lost and found trouble with them at some point. Either way the other Kaze member said something about not liking men relating to former lord Lezarious being bad or starting some gang of his own called the Bleeding Rubies group. Their was also some talk about Kniana meeting a tiefling. Pretty rare those are around home, well about as rare as Sylphs so.... Regardless they kept talking about Kaze's responsibility to the ritual at the Hill of Tears and how their clan was falling apart in this turmoil. Kniana also told the Kaze about the whole schtick with the necklaces and RRRoshin's goal of sealing the abyssal tree portal thing and trying to do both. Eventualy they had to take off and made mention of their use of Dust of Tracelessness to keep the tainted away saying that its disturbances in the area rather than tremor sense that they use. Hell, Tel even convinced Kniana to sign onto the book deal after all that.
After a bit Maki woke back up. I could tell from the loud crashing inside my cart. He was getting outta a bad dream and use a force spell woven into a glove he was using. I starting putting things back with him as we talked a bit. I asked him if he participated in the ritual that RRRoshin went through. He hadn't thank Calistria, but he did sympathise with the masked messangers and had a wonderfull amount of information regarding it. I scribbled away furiously as he talked about a large pool of water with the dark flowers floating in it. One of the masked messengers assisted in the ritual. RRRoshin was submerged as the flowers kind of melted into a black tar. Much like I knew, the final stage of this "curse" isn't so much of a curse as it can only really be undone with a Miracle or Wish spell, some powerful divination. He said the worst part was the flowers grow into the body and cause the black blood with an infection or fungus growing or something. It creates an immunity to electrical damage. While they were out before the ritual Maki said that they met with someone who was researching insects and that a flood of them ran into the forest near the Gills. We then started talking business from there. It might not have been terribly important, but it was something to keep at least me grounded and not panicking at this whole situation. He had his shipment hidden in the bottom of one of the Gills, I said I had payments in the bank for him, and we both had some tea.
After our meeting Maki went out for a walk, and my little group came together for talking about current events. I never really knew or looked close enough, but apparently RRRoshin's eyes actually regrew even if they lacked irises after the ritual due to the weird regenerative abilities. Skrel made mention about the 9 Lords of the abyss being the counterparts of the 9 of the forest. Skrel said that his patron id the third most powerful which explains much of...well...him since that is were he gets his power and all. Kniana told us of if the Fey ritual isn't completed soon that an ice wall would enclose the misted area as a "containment" measure. We talked more about what to do with the whole thing, where to go and what not. I made mention that RRRoshin said that he'd let us use all the necklaces after a visit to Svendio to seal that tree portal situation. Kniana really wanted to get back the the Lady of Nine for some kinda mysterious past thing she mentioned.
After some time Maki showed back up with RRRoshin. RRRoshin make mention about the runegate in the cave for our travel to Svendio to make it faster since both events are due on the same coming Harvest Moon. He also makes a deal with Kniana by giving her the last necklace to hang onto as he whishes us to go stop the tree portal first but would let us do whatever afterward, like I made mention of. Kniana was still hesitant with leaving her cart and Draven behind. Truthfully, I felt the same with Bessy especially with those people after RRRoshin stopping by. Roshin solved part of this by borrowing a few crystals and using some combination with scrolls cast two instances of Shadow Servant to persist while we were gone. As much as I didn't want to go, I defiantly don't want to leave Maki alone with all this happening. I did think of crafting on the road. It wouldn't be ideal, but it could help out Eval and in turn my survival. The downside was I couldn't carry the 60lb bag of holding I use for storage. Luckily Skrel volunteered. Well he offered and gave warning about possibility of destruction. It would be quite the loss, but with the amount of Fresine crystals in there I'd be more concerned for the city block around the thing.
RRRoshin told us of how the Elf king, his king uses the undead to defend his lands. He apparently woke up the day that the titan's heel had been split. The fossilized titan in the Svendio wastes that also contains pits of vampires, ghouls, and demons. The titan that was used to fight the Gods and has been calified since the Heart of Mistra was shattered. He also informed us that the Garrick prince was getting ready to stage a coup with Islomon against the king. AND that Islomon had one of the Nine loard of the Abyss in his dungeon. Lord number five, Patience. They were effectively bleeding the demon to use his blood in a ritual to make the Silver knights part demon and buff them up with Kinslayer gear... Not the worst idea, but pretty close in my opinion. Kniana ended up asking about that blade that some skeleton gave her, the one that can cut through just about any sheath. RRRoshin confirmed what I had mentioned about it being a mage slayer and disrupting magical flow. He also mentioned something about it being from a mage slaying group of sorts that the skeleton must've recognized her from. I was kinda lost at that part. After a few more questions from others, we learned that RRRoshin is over 1300 years old. Makes me really wonder what magics he's seen and played with in his time. It also makes me wonder which version of peace and righteousness he believes in. I already know his distain for Islomon...
After that additional chat, they left us to get ready or do whatever we needed to. At sundown if we were going to help we'd have to use a bit of electrical energy to activate the runegate by tapping left of center and meet them on the other side. The consensus seemed to be to help them first before getting back to the Lady as soon as we could. Everyone went their separate ways to prepare. Eval and I went to the Crystaline Kobolds to explain our situation of leaving the things alone, trapping, and the likely returning bounty hunters or whoever they were. After a few other precatory thing mostly everyone else got some sleep after a rather long night. I too got some rest after putting nearly everything but the library and forge into my resource bag. I then took some time to prep one of my devices into Stone Discus since we were warned to bring blunt weaponry. I also drafted up some signage in various languages about warnings and both legal and lethal consequences to messing with a Snaggletooth Cart. Since Kniana still owes Maki money I figured that I could claim her cart under guild protections too and hung a sign on hers. It should deter anyone of any sort of standing, and possibly the common thief with the magical monitoring warning. I just whish I had time to actually put up some magical monitoring...
Well with everything taken care of and everyone rested, Maki joined us on our way to the runegate. Apparently he had payed Tel to alter it during his morning walk. I really hope that Glyphinkin can still get through, or at least doesn't smite us for changing it for awhile... Lily ended up giving the zap to the gate to open it up. On the other side we saw RRoshin and the Watchers. Eval asked where we ended up. RRRoshin said it was a dwarven graveyard filled with traps down near the Svendio wastes.
