Unofficial Food Flash Challenge Winners!

It's been a week, and what a week! All in all we've gotten 38 excellent entries and judging was no easy feat. Before we let you know who won, I have to give a huge shout out to my co-judges Moonflower and Drackni Waterwisper A.K.A. DragonMagpie, and to the community at large. You're all awesome!   We'll be contacting all the winners and rolling out prizes as soon as possible. Lets start with some honorable mentions, who may or may not be receiving a secret dwarven bacon bookmark prize ;)

Honorable Mentions

Baron's Point Food Experience by RPGDinosaurBob

Baron's Point Food Experience
Tradition / Ritual | Aug 15, 2021

Bob's article made me hungry. Some of the dishes mentioned made me drool.
— Moonflower

Cloud Sugar by Endrise

Cloud Sugar
Item | Aug 13, 2021

A common dessert on the plane of air.

It's so inventive and fantastical, and goes perfectly with a world of airships.
— Annie

Salt Cakes by Jester%

Salt Cakes
Item | Aug 15, 2021

A dessert that only a Dwarf would drool over as the level of salt in some of them have been known to cause others to become very sick

Highly creative while being believable and a sense of humor. Also the gag factor of imagining anything having that much salt on it
— Drackni Waterwisper

Runner Ups

These next two articles got our highest scores for creativity!

Psychic Beer by Kitopoy

Psychic Beer
Item | Sep 3, 2021

This magical brew grants the drinker minor magical powers while they are intoxicated.

Kitopoy wrote about Psychic Beer, a magical-infused beverage that I can't wait to steal and put into a ttrpg of my own at some point.
— Annie

Leftovers by Rumengol

CW: Human Consumption
Leftovers
Item | Sep 3, 2021

Rare and pricey remains of preys caught by the Spheres.

Rumengol's Leftovers is a deep dive into an alien and bizarre world that left me in awe.
— Annie
Up next is our top scorer on versimilitude.

Baduhmian Crackling Beef by KahunaTheElder

This could go to none other than Kahuna's Baduhmian Crackling Beef, an article made me feel like I too was walking the streets of Pekubogo Monin, digesting the mouthwatering description of a meal.
— Annie
Now you might wonder what became of the top scorer on Presentation...

WINNERS!

3. Elven Artisanal Bread by Riverfang

riverfang_3rdprize_bread.png

This amazing article by Riverfang was not just our top scorer when it comes to presentation, but won third place. I could smell the fresh bread as I read this article, and I loved reading about this Elven staple food.
— Annie

2. Sérannian food by Amélie I. S.

amélie_2ndprize_fruit.png

Amélie's article is like stepping through a portal into Sérannie. We learn so much about the local people and their cuisine, and I love the framing of it being Isabelle's notes. A well-earned second place!
— Annie

1. Ayakan Usami by Sailing Ocelot

tulin_1stprize_tilde.png
And with no further ado, first place goes to none other than Sailing Ocelot. We all loved this piece about adorable little pastries and the culture that grew around it. The concept of Usami Meshu is really what sold us.
