Silverwood
The Silverwood is a vast and untamed forest in the far north of Remon, situated beyond the boundaries of the Kingdom of Remon. Stretching between the Plains of Daraneen and the Sea of Zarroth, this dense woodland is a place of ancient, dark beauty and lurking danger. The forest is dominated by towering Silverhorn trees, their gleaming, silvery bark giving the forest its name, and the presence of Fir and Pine adds a sharp, resinous scent to the air. In the understory, Ghostvine and Firevine crawl along the forest floor, casting an eerie glow in the dim light beneath the thick canopy.
The Silverwood is teeming with perilous creatures. Linsarr, terrifying six-legged predators, prowl the depths, their speed and cunning making them lethal hunters. The forest is also home to the Noddumm, giant, aggressive toads that inhabit the marshy riverbanks of the Banrak River. These immense amphibians, with their camouflaged skin and territorial behaviour, pose a serious threat to anyone who ventures too close to their lairs. Bears and wildcats are a common peril. The forest is also home to many less threatening species, including deer, beaver, marmots, foxes, and squirrels.
Tribes of the Silverwood live in small, hidden villages deep in the forest, and they are known for their hostility to outsiders. These tribes guard their territory fiercely, frequently launching raids on frontier settlements in the Plains of Daraneen. The tribes are deeply attuned to the forest, relying on its resources for survival and possessing knowledge of the creatures and dangers within.
