Denerth Woods

The Denerth Woods stretch along the eastern coast of Remon, covering a vast expanse of forest between the Krund Hills and the Bay of Laknas. These dense woodlands are both lush and ancient, with towering Fir, Pine, and Elm trees dominating the landscape. Silverhorn trees, with their sweeping branches, are scattered throughout, while thickets of Pryval and Banthis shrubs grow thick in the forest underbrush, creating a tangled and shadowy environment. The Arknas town lies at the northwestern edge of the woods, home to the famous Great Flame that burns in the Temple of Piatok.   The Denerth Woods are known for their abundance of wildlife, both benign and dangerous. Deer are often hunted here. Beavers, marmots and golden squirrels are common sights, while the forest canopy is alive with the songs of birds such as the Goldbeak and Crimson Tarron. However, the woods are also home to more dangerous creatures. Predatory Linsarr silently stalk the forest floor, hunting large mammals and anyone unlucky enough to stray too far into their territory. The Noddumm, a giant amphibian, lurks in the swampier areas along the Arkon, ambushing prey that ventures too close to the water’s edge.   The forest is steeped in mystery, with thick fog often rolling through its lower reaches, and tales of travelers disappearing within its depths are common among the locals. While some brave hunters and foragers venture into the woods, they do so with caution, for the Denerth Woods have a reputation as a place where the line between the natural and the supernatural can blur. Ancient pathways and overgrown ruins hint at a long-forgotten past, lending an eerie atmosphere to this already untamed wilderness.
