Gilrim Forest

Gilrim Forest sprawls across the northwestern region of Great Forbin, nestled against the backdrop of the Bay of Gilrim. This dense and enchanting woodland is characterized by its towering trees, lush undergrowth, and rich biodiversity. The forest serves as a vital habitat for a wide array of wildlife, providing sanctuary to both common and rare species.   The towering Oak and Fir trees dominate the canopy, their branches intertwined to form a protective shield against the elements. Below, the forest floor is a vibrant tapestry of life, with a variety of flowering plants such as the bright orange Firevine and delicate blue Bluewort, adding splashes of colour amidst the greenery. Trailing vines like Ghostvine and Jarranin weave their way through the underbrush, creating a maze of foliage that invites exploration.   Wildlife flourishes within Gilrim Forest, from the energetic golden squirrels that dart among the branches to the elusive foxes that navigate the shadows. The forest is also home to larger mammals, including deer and the occasional wild boar, which roam the undergrowth in search of food. Bears can be found in the deeper, more secluded areas, where they forage for berries and nuts, adding an air of mystery to the forest's wild charm.   The Gilrim Forest is not just a haven for wildlife; it also plays a crucial role in the lives of local inhabitants. The forest provides timber for construction, firewood for warmth, and an abundance of plants for medicinal purposes. Herbalists often venture into its depths to gather sought-after species like Blackhelm, which is prized for its medicinal properties.
