Gods of Chaos

In the Eight States of Chronan, the faith of the Gods of Time and Order is the only lawful religion. Any deity that isn't included among the official eight is deemed a "false god of chaos" by The Order, with some scriptures even calling them demons and devils. Worshipping these deities in the Eight States is considered heresy and has been harshly punished in the history.   Religions practiced outside the Eight States are deemed false and chaotic as well, but for diplomatic reasons, visitors from those nations are rarely pursued unless they attempt to spread their faith in the cities. Despite the ongoing efforts of the Inquisitors, many cults and heretic sects still exist in the countryside and hidden corners of the continent. The resistance movement calling themselves the Agents of Chaos were originally formed by worshippers of these forbidden deities.

Aegeon

Aegeon the Fell Omen is a cosmic deity believed to have arrived to the world with the Fellstar meteor according to the Disciples of the Dark Star, who are trying to find a way for it to return to its heavenly home via the use of Chaos Artifacts.

Asmoday

Asmoday, also known as the Lord of Lies, is the ruler of the Nine Hells. As the most powerful of the archdevils, he is worshipped by many cults that have fallen under the thralls of devils.

Azhaer and Ixhor

The fierce dual deities of Brimstone Island are still worshipped by most citizens of Heathaven, although The Order has gotten a foothold in the volcanic city. Azhaer is the goddess of ash and rebirth while Ixhor is the god of flame and death. Myths tell they were once the same deity, and some connect them to the ancient two-headed Greatwyrm Xizathot.

Balensire

Balensire is the benevolent whale god of The United Merdomes, who is said to have created all underwater creatures with his song. He is thus the protector of all sea life. His name is contrived from the elvish Ballaessaar.

Chthonica

Chthonica the Fathomless is a kraken goddess worshipped as a savior goddess by the tritons of House Malamar in Parcivale, but seen as a herald of death and destruction by most. Her cult has spread into The Freeisles and the United Merdomes as well.

Dragon Gods

There are three great Dragon Gods:
  • The Pentarch Dragon, the five-headed deity of chromatic dragons. The myths say she was bound to Hell as a punishment for betraying her mate, the Platinum Dragon. Her name in draconic is Dracia Tiamat.
  • The Platinum Dragon, deity of the metallic Dragon Lords of The Glimmering Archiourano. His name in draconic is Drax Bahamut.
  • The Ruby Dragon, the elusive deity of the neutral gem dragons. The draconic myths tell that in the beginning of time, the Ruby Dragon - the only common child of the Pentarch Dragon and the Platinum Dragon - shattered Their body into myriad shards to create the gem dragons. Their name in draconic is Draic Sardior.
  • Dwarven Pantheon

The extensive Dwarven Pantheon is still worshipped by the clans of The Skyward Peaks, although only Elethrain among them earned a place as one of the eight official gods of Chronan. Notable gods in the pantheon include:
  • Morrduin Fatherhammer, the creator of the world and the dwarven people
  • Karlinde Earthmother, goddess of earth and home, molded by Morrduin as his consort
  • Golden Elethrain, goddess of wealth, fortune and death; twin sister of Halbrym, daughter of Morrduin and Karlinde
  • Argent Halbrym, goddess of light, love and life; twin sister of Elethrain, daughter of Morrduin and Karlinde
  • Mahtamur Fastaxe, god of war and honor, consort of Shargaddin
  • Shargaddin, god of mining and work, consort of Mahtamur
  • Valgabrun the Traveller, goddess of exploration and trade, used to be worshipped by hill dwarves
  • Derranka, god of greed and thieves, worshipped especially among grey dwarves
  • Elemental Deities

The four Primordial Elementals are still worshipped in parts of Geigerport, especially by orcs of Barambu Island:
  • Leviakhous the Sea Serpent, said to be the lord of leviathans who was defeated by Balensire with the power of song and dance in some myths. His shrine, constructed of sea serpent skeletons, still stands on the southern shore of the Pearly Bay.
  • Rai-Yu, a mythical storm beast that tore the skies asunder in orcish lore. His lair was rumored to be inside the Howling Canyon at Donnerstark Desert.
  • The Phoenix Goddess, the eternal fire bird whose temple remains on Barambu Island. She is said to reside in the volcanic Mount Doraman and rise to her people's aid in times of great need.
  • Zaratan, a primordial turtle carrying the world on its back in orcish creation myths. She is said to lay dormant at the bottom of the western sea of Mare Ardere, and rise to the surface as an island to breathe once in a millennium.
  • Elven High Kings

The High Kings of the elves were revered as deified rulers during and after their reign in the ancient kingdom of Iovillon in modern-day Jubileum. Other historical figures of note were worshipped in the same manner, tracing back to the ancient elven custom of paying respects to one's ancestors. Even though their worship is forbidden, high elves have long memories and some still look back to the days of Iovillon with longing. Among them were:
  • Filovan Mellonduil, the Sage of Tar Glaedost, counted as the first High King
  • Chalfant Seul Beauchant, the last High King
  • Gnomish Gods

The forgotten Gnomish Gods once formed a trio with Kreusstross:
  • Gogoljan, the stoic goddess of stone and wisdom. She is depicted as a deep gnome with three gem eyes.
  • Baeragam, the tricksy god of forests and animals. He is depicted wearing a green cap and accompanied by a giant raccoon.
  • Gods of the Moon and the Sun

The ancient people used to worship the celestial bodies as deities, and several gods are known to have been connected to the moon and the sun:
  • Fenris the Moon-Eater, a black wolf that was said to have devoured a piece of the moon, explaining its broken crescent shape. It was worshipped as a god of the hunt and a patron of lycanthropes.
  • Lucidia, an ancient sun goddess worshipped by primal human tribes, including the berserkers of Sootwood in Copperhaven.
  • Maenataur, an ancient moon god of the drow, still revered by some in the Netherspan.
  • The Raven Conspirator

The Raven Conspirator, a dark deity or archfey connected to fate, who was once worshipped in Uzzud Magocracy in modern day Parcivale. In the legends, they rule the Shadow Realm from their perch in the Museum of Memories. Ravens are said to be her eyes in the mortal realm.

    The Spider Queen

The Spider Queen is a demonic deity whose cult has spread throughout the Netherspan, especially among the drow elves. She is said to have the power to transform her followers into spider hybrids known as "driders" in her image, as she is described as a beautiful woman with the lower body of a swollen spider.

    The Wickerman

The Wickerman is a druidic idol worshipped in secrecy in the village of Wickerwork Downs in Magnapolis. The constructed idol is burned down whenever troubling times hit the village to appease the spirit.

    Titans

The gods of the ancient giants were called Titans. Most of their names are lost in history, their only remains being the immense shattered statues at the ruins of Teutanos in the Skyward Peaks and other such places. One whose name is in the records is Skadhath, the titaness of winter.
