The Skyward Peaks

The Skyward Peaks, the tallest mountains in the continent of Chronan, are home to several ancient underground cultures of dwarves, drow and deep gnomes. Collectively they are known as Netherspan. These cultures survived mostly intact from the strike of The Fellstar thousands of years ago, and have claimed independence from the Eight States. There is also the dwarven city of Aerdale, carved into a mountainside in a valley deep in the mountains.
In ancient times, the mountaintop city of Teutanos was built by Giants to the region, but it fell in ruins after its mighty masters perished during the Ashen Age.
Multiple dragons banished from The Glimmering Archiourano have made the peaks their homes. There is also rumored to be a safehaven of Sky Pirates called Himmelheim, located in some hidden valley among the peaks.
The mountains are surrounded by the state of Copperhaven to the west and the state of Reignstone to the south. The mostly uninhabitated northwestern coast beyond the mountains contains the Rimeheim Fjords.
