The Fellstar Myth in Gears of Chronan | World Anvil

The Fellstar

The Fellstar is the name given to the meteor that struck the world thousands of years ago, launching it into the Ashen Age. It wiped out many thriving cultures from the face of the world, leaving only ruins behind. Before hitting the surface of the world, it pierced the moon, causing its broken crescent shape.   The immense crater left from the crash is known as @the Wound of the World, located on the other side of the world from Chronan. In the teachings of the faith of the Gods of Time and Order, the Fellstar is the source of all chaos and abomination in the world, sent to overthrow the rightful gods - or, in some writings, punish people for turning to worship false deities. It is said that the mutant species and warped monsters originated from the crater.   Some dragons, especially of the gem variety, believe otherwise. An ancient draconic prophecy claims that the Ruby Dragon, firstborn of the primordial dragon deities, gave up their life to create the gem dragons in their image, but their crystallized heart was left behind. This heart would descend upon the world to mark the rebirth of the lost deity.   Fragments of the Fellstar were found, carrying immense power within. These meteorite shards were contained in objects known as Chaos Artifacts, which were used in the great War between Chaos and Order at the start of the Steaming Age hundreds of years ago. Some factions, such as The Agents of Chaos and The Rubine Reavers, are still searching if any of these artifacts remain.   Another faction, a cult calling themselves Disciples of the Dark Star, believes that a cosmic deity known as Aegeon arrived to the world with the Fellstar. They seek for a way to return it to its heavenly home in exchange for great power.
