Giants

During the Gilded Age before The Fellstar calamity, the world was ruled by two great species: the dragons and the giants. Save for the massive Greatwyrms, dragons survived the catastrophe due to their magical nature, but giants were mostly wiped out. Legends tell of individual true giants wandering in the wilderness, but the giant blood is survived by their descendants: the goliaths, the firbolgs and the ogres.
Giants were humanoid by appearance, but much larger. Depending on the type, they could range from 13 feet to almost 30 feet tall. Their skin color varied in all earthy tones, and like dragons, they were deeply connected to the primordial elements that created them.
In Chronan, giants dwelled mostly in the mountainous regions of The Skyward Peaks, where they established the mountaintop city of Teutanos. They were in constant war not only with dragons, but with the fey folk of the Grandwood as well. They cut down much of the enchanted forest, including the Mother Tree of the fey, and built the ziggurat now known as the capital city of Reignstone.
Another place where giants ruled in ancient times were the Tromboli Foothills of Parcivale. The enormous Gargan Tor still rises intact as a memory of their reign, protected by the frightful spirits that haunt it.
