The Plan (Rumour)
"There is always and only the plan." Richard Dargent, in an out-of-game interview. Not much is known about the Plan, but it seemed to have gone somewhat awry since the presence of fake-Yvette was discovered.
Summary
Plan A
An Ears of the City spell on Needleday, Soldiermoon, 1313 provided clarity on the Dargent's initial "Plan A," which was altered once their main lynchpin ended up being killed by a pairaka.Logically the Dargents did not need to control every family at court if they could control the Lord Captain Emissary. They planned to use Guinevera's niece, Yvette, to seduce the Lord Captain Emissary which would give her control over his personal life and affairs. The eventual plan was to kill the Lord Captain Emissary and have Yvette replace him through shapeshifting.
Guinevera convinced Yvette of the plan and cast a love spell on the Lord Captain Emissary at a function that Richard had arranged for Yvette to be at. After that initial boost, Yvette had enough personal courtesan skills to maintain the love effect, even after Guinevera's love spell wore off.
Takesday, Tinkermoon, 1313
Hugo Dargent discovered that there were two bodies of Yvette, the Courtesan, one of whom is now dead. One of Yvette's Handmaidens, Hessian, freed from the Charm Monster that the Courtesan had been keeping her under, contacted Katiba Wiggin Bakerstreet.Needleday, Tailormoon, 1313
Hugo Dargent was questioned by Wiggin Bakerstreet about the events of the previous Takesday into Eclipseday at the Dargent Estate. Guinevera Dargent then questioned him further, and learns about the presence of the two Yvettes. She enters damage-control mode. It seems the original Yvette (Guinvera's niece) had been part of the Plan, and things were communicated (by Guinevera and Richard) that were for her ears only. If someone else has taken her place, then that bodes ill for the Plan (and perhaps the whole Dargent Family). Richard Dargent begins the process of hiring mercenaries. It is worth noting that, when Hugo was younger, Richard had described the Vixois family as "not part of the Plan", adding that in his opinion, Guinevera was the only sensible one among the family, suggesting that Yvette was a later asset in the larger plan not accounted for in "Plan A".
Takesday, Tailormoon, 1313
Guinevera arranged for a "bunny playdate" at the Baharat Estate, where she used the time to diplomatically raise her standing with Viziera Jessop Baharat, which was discussed at dinner that evening as part of the Plan.At dinner, they also mentioned that Vizier Cobbler Bakerstreet has become a problem and lament the return of the Viziers Balthazar Ironside and Jaq Mason, who had the Shakes but are now recovered. Richard has plans to ensure threats from that side are neutralised and is confident that he has a sufficient hold on the Underhands, who they know are secretly Doppelgängers, and the Carterholds, who he has plans to apply "sufficient pressure" to.
Richard has pressured Vizier Haruspex Underhand to call a Whisper Vote on Viziera Katharine Ironside and is working on making himself seem passionate and reliable. In general, the Dargent parents have been making efforts to "bring things back on track", after lost ground due to the incident with two Yvettes.

In an Ears of the City on the Dargent parent conversations, Connie Furr picked up on details of the Dargent's plan to consoldate power over all of the other noble families. They are trying to convince the nobles to inspect the Wall fully because Richard has intuited from financial conversations with Vizier Jaq Mason that the Masons have been lying about the Wall's integrity. The Shajara have agreed to help with convincing others in exchange for renegotiating the terms of their existing deal with the Dargents. The Dargents also have schemes to use rumours about Cobbler's ex-wife to oust him, believing that his son, Felinet Bakerstreet, would be an easier Vizier to manipulate.
Givesday, Soldiermoon, 1313
At the Jonas Fogg Medical College, a glimpse of Fake-Yvette's mindscape and memories revealed that it had actually been nine-year-old Scarlett Dargent who found the Vixois side of the family and discovered that Yvette was actually her cousin. It was Scarlett that gave Guinevera the idea of using Yvette to seduce and replace the Lord Captain Emissary.Scarlett: "Hi!"Scarlett is only nine years old, but the Dargent parents have been talking about the Plan since Victor and Hugo were children, which suggests that the overall Plan did not begin with "Plan A".
Pairaka: "Hello?"
Scarlett: "Just checking in!"
Pairaka: "Checking in, on what, pray tell?"
Scarlett: "You’re silly." [Scarlett hops onto a stool.] "Figured you’d probably already told mum everything she’d want to know. But I like to make sure I get everything as direct as possible so I thought I’d just come check up myself. Does mum still think it was her idea?"
Pairaka: "Uh, yes. Yes, I think so, wouldn’t worry about that."
Scarlett: "Good. How’s the Emissary?"
Pairaka: "He’s right where we want him?"
Scarlett: "Okay. Tell my Auntie I said hi!"
