Darkvale Forest

Darkvale Forest is located west of The Highpeak Range and north of Pinemarch, it is home to many species of coniferous trees such as spruces, firs, cedar trees and many more tree species commonly found in boreal forests. These types of trees are commonly used in construction by The Kingdom of Illargos and are harvested my the city of Pinemarch and small logging-town of Darkvale to be sent all over the rest of the kingdom. Darkvale is located in the eastern region of the forest and was named after the forest itself. Darkvale Forest is an eerily quiet place, the strong trees are often unshaken by the winds and the snow which covers the ground muffles the sound of footsteps which gives the forest a still and tranquil atmosphere, until the howls of the wolfpacks inhabiting the place shatter the quiet.

Geography

Darkvale Forest is a boreal forest and as such is home to many different species of coniferous tree however the most prevalent species are the firs, cedars and pine trees. The land the forest is on is relatively flat and is covered in snow even in the southern regions. On the eastern edge of the forest is The North Lake, a large lake surrounded on all sides by the steep mountains of The Highpeak Range.
