Volun'Kaer

Built deep in the heart of The Highpeak Range, Volun’Kaer is a dwarven city cut out of a huge cavern by the ancestors of the Dwarves of Clan Stronghammer. It is a large city with residential areas carved into the walls of the cavern in tiers which rise up the sides of the colossal cavern. Slim stone bridges provide crossings on every level creating a web-like network of walkways between the levels of the cavern-city and, on the lowest level, networks of tunnels and mine shafts bore deeper into the heart of The Highpeak Range yielding Iron and most importantly Mithril which are used to create weapons and armour for the Clan’s warriors.
