The Brightgreen Isle

Brightgreen Isle is a small island located in the south west of Central Midasfjall, it is covered in lush woodland and is home to the elves of Central Midasfjall. The elves of the Brightgreen Isle are spread across three settlements; Cape Verdinia in the north, Twinleaf Mott in the center, and Elysium to the south.

Geography

The Brightgreen Isle is a small island that sits just off the coast of Central Midasfjall in The Azure Sea, it is a volcanic island formed in ages past where an oceanic rift reached the surface of the ocean causing magma to accumulate and cool, forming the small mountain in the southern region of the isle. Over time more magma dribbled down from the mountain sides forming the northern region of the island and causing it to incline upwards towards the southern end. The western coast of the island faces The Azure Sea and is buffeted regularly by waves, this activity has resulted in steep cliff faces all along the western side of the island. As the volcanic activity lessened the ground, fertilised by volcanic ash and sea spray, was ready to sustain life. Conditions became favourable for seeds blown across the sea from Central Midasfjall to take root and grow, resulting in Twinleaf Forest which now covers almost the entirety of the island from north to south.

Localized Phenomena

It is thought that the presence of the Elves who make their home on the Brightgreen Isle has had an effect on the plant life of the isle; the suffusion of elven magic over time having transformed some of the species in surprising ways. A noticeable difference between Twinleaf Forest and a non-elven forest, The Arbor for example, is that at night some plants in Twinleaf Forest glow with bioluminescent petals, coasting the woodland in a myriad of vivid colour which is breathtaking to behold. Another phenomena is that the forest remains temperate year round so anyone camping out in the woods would find themselves warm enough even without the warmth of a campfire.
