The Metropolites
Metropolite is the title given to the ruler of each of the Eight States of Chronan. They are both the political and the religious ruler of their respective states, acting as the faces of The Order to ensure that everyone follows the faith of the Gods of Time and Order in their name. The Eight Prophets are considered to be the first Metropolites, even though the title was brought into use only after the eight cities formed a formal union.
The Metropolites have a large organization working under them in The Order. They lead the city council of each great city in the Eight States, and act as heads of the military, including the Air Brigade, The Inquisitors and the Steam Knights. They also command a throng of clerical legislators, judges, scribes and diplomats that keep the gears of the government turning.
Metropolites are chosen from amongst influential members of city councils or clergy when the previous one retires or dies. They have no specific uniforms, but each carries the symbols of all eight gods somewhere in their costume.
The current Metropolites are:
Solomon Kevlar, the Metropolite of Czenova (a dark-skinned male half-elf with a twirled moustache and goatee; he dresses in dark grey and wears the symbols of the gods on rings on his fingers)
Vhileysha Silf Nemonarche, the Metropolite of Jubileum (a lavender-haired high elven woman with strikingly blue eyes; she dresses in white and wears the symbols of the gods on a tiara)
Malias Ormandu, the Metropolite of Gardenoor (a gaunt pale grey goliath with dark stripes across his skin and long, dark hair swept back; he dresses in orange and wears the symbols of the gods on armbands)
Louveria Heartcourt, the Metropolite of Magnapolis (a plump human woman wearing a tall white wig, she dresses in pink and wears the symbols of the gods on a fan)
Arland "Hawkeye" Hollistern, the Metropolite of Copperhaven and the commander of the Air Brigade (an elderly human male with balding grey hair and beard with a monocle; he wears a black uniform and wears the symbols of the gods on medals attached to the chest.)
Jyno Karsht, the Metropolite of Geigerport and the admiral of the Origo Fleet (a tall half-orc woman with red hair; she wears a navy uniform and wears the symbols of the gods on the front buttons.)
Shillian Jamboree, the Metropolite of Parcivale (a very old halfling male with curly gray hair and thick glasses; he wears green robes and a pointy hat, and has the symbols of the gods attached to a scepter)
Griamel of Aerdale, the Metropolite of Reignstone (a female dwarf with thick brown braided hair and beard; she has the symbols of the gods in each piece of the ceremonial armor she wears)

Eight States of Chronan
The continent of Chronan is ruled by the Eight States that have united under the faith of the Gods of Time and Order. Each state is governed by a Metropolite and their council.
