  • Philomelo is the genderless god of knowledge, secrets and magic. They are worshipped among researchers, librarians, students and magic-users such as sorcerers and wizards. Their name is also evoked when someone wants to keep or reveal a secret. Comparisons have been drawn between them and the ancient elven sage Filovan Mellonduil who once united the peoples of Grandwood, but they have been deemed sacrilegious.

    Appearance

Philomelo is depicted as a genderless, hairless, and gaunt elf dressed in a long robe, holding the sealed Book of All Knowledge on their hands. Several myths tell of people who read the book to know the future or their faith - either with or without Philomelo's permission - and suffered for it. Philomelo's heaven is said to be "the Glades of Arvandor", where the inquisitive souls of sages and scholars help Philomelo uncover the mysteries of the world in their great study.

    Clergy

The garbs of Philomelo's priests are bluish-purple with holy scriptures embroidered into them. The priests act as teachers and librarians in The Order. Higher-ranking priests are obligated to shave all hair from their heads and bodies in honor of their deity. There are also monastic order dedicated to Philomelo, where all the monks vow an oath of silence and spend their days scribing and archiving documents. A small subsect of the clergy known as The Watchers of Extraplanar Activity based in Czenova City are devoted to researching and eliminating otherworldy influence on the world.

    Temples

Philomelo's temples double as libraries and archives, with collections of books from all imaginable topics. The largest of them are the Grand Archives in Czenova and the Sagacious Conservatory in Magnapolis. There are rumored to be secret sections in the main temples that are only accessible by the high clergy, containing apocryphal and heretical writings.

    Powers

People dedicated to Philomelo often claim to have been blessed with clairvoyance and telepathic abilities. They also seem to have expanded awareness and a deep font of knowledge.
