The Watchers

The Watchers of Extraplanar Activity (W.E.P.A. for short) is a clandestine subsect of the clergy of Philomelo, the god of knowledge and magic. Based in the Grand Archives of Czenova City, it is an order of priests, paladins and scholars dedicated in examining and eliminating threats that originate from other planes of existence. Their founder and leader is Pumpernickel Bezzerwizzer, the high priest of Philomelo in Czenova.
Their driving ideology is that Chaos is a living, menacing entity in the far reaches of the cosmos, aspiring to twist and mutate all life into aberrations and abominations. The number of Watchers is small, and many consider them to be paranoid conspiracy theorists, which is why they keep their research mostly to themselves. Their motto is Verum Ibi Alicubi, "the truth is there, somewhere".
Despite their reclusive status in The Order, W.E.P.A. is rumored to have successfully developed equipment and technology that surpresses chaotic influence in individuals. The rising number of chaos artifacts discovered in the world has put the Watchers on the move as well.
