Vainan Tongue

The traditional language of Vaina, Monos, and Milos. The Vainan language developed as a mixture of Old Brevessarian and Viisianari during the Orckid Conquest. It was then brought south through Monos and Milos as the conquest concluded, and was used to unify the various tongues of those lands. Speaking Vainan is sometimes called Speaking Eastern, as it is the prevalent and dominant language of the eastern half of Kynaj.   Major Dialects
Brevesse: The elevated tongue of Vainan nobility, and those who seek to imitate them.
Common Vainan. Also called Common. The tongue of peasants and merchants of Vaina, this dialect travels often through Monos and Milos, and is the standard in Northern Monos.
Monosi: Also called Royal Vainan. The tongue of the central Monosi kingdoms. It is heavily influenced by Brevesse, due to the common intermarriage between Vainan and Monosi nobles.
Milosan: Also called Peninsulan. The tongue of the Lordslands of Milos. As they become more civilized, Milos' nobility have become known to teach themselves Brevesse.
Mongrel/Bastard: Unofficial terms for the tongue of the Wild North. A mixture of Common Vainan with Ostral and Daridan Orick.
