Roynasi

Long lost to history, what little is known about the Roynasi is both vague and sometimes contradictory. Though typically seen as the holy ancestors of the Monosi who conquered the ancient devils of the Shadowgate Mountains before settling around the Sea of Trials to await the coming of the first King of Kings, other myths and artifacts suggest the Roynasi came later and were in fact an offshoot of the Monosi. Some legends indicate the Roynasi may have warred with the Onzui Ohir and the Shyei Geir, ancestors of the Terminallians and the Samayans, respectively.   Most Roynasi artifacts are small, stone carvings. There appear to have been periods of civilizations plundering these artifacts and moving them about, making it difficult to determine just where the Roynasi originally lived. There is a higher concentration of artifacts in southern Westheart (and northern Kingsrift, for that matter), leading many to point here as their original home. The relative nearness of the Royina Foothills, a Milosian region south of the Pass of Peril, and the locals there who call themselves Roylians, is the subject of much debate.   Largely, the Roynasi are seen as the historic ancestors of the Monosi, Samayans, and even the Brevessarians. Many of the proud and ancient Brevessarians disagree with this, especially the nobles who claim heritage from before the birth of Vaina, but most accept the idea if only out of indifference.
