Monosi
The people of the Mortal Kingdoms of Monos. Though considered to be of the ghast folk, the Monosi have more olive skin-tones, presumably due to their centuries in the sweltering heat of central Monos and their proximity to the Sea of Trials. People of North Monos (the four northerly kingdoms of the Hilldren, Albanesca, the Viper's Nest, and Embelmadro) are often paler, though whether this is due to the environment or intermarriage with Mornals is hard to say.
Though they are contiguous with an incredible nine other nations, the Monosi are relatively homogenous unless living near borders. Raised on legends of conquest, but often lacking the military might to enact those conquests, the Kingdoms of Monos frequently repel foreign peoples, visitors or invaders. The exception to this is royal marriages, of course, making the noble families more diverse. This is especially true of the Principality of Vaina to the northeast: there has been more intermarriage between nobles of these two nations than any others.
