Hans Muhlfeld
Han Muhlfeld is an alchemist from Almas, chosen by Saint Kristoff to descend into The Spire and save the world.

Personal history
Hans Muhfield grew up on the island nation of Almas. He was raised primarily by his father, Arthur Muhfield, as his mother died during childbirth. His father was an alchemist and he learned everything he knows from his father. He worked as his father's assistant until he came of age. Once he came of age, he decided to leave the island and travel the world as a merchant. He elected to travel to the land of Dormand first, as it was the closest to the island and their people had a reputation for being friendly and open to new ideas.
His travels would bring him to the village of Garfluer, known for their orchards and their love of creating and imbibing great ciders and apple wines. During a stay at The Apple Dragon Inn, he came across a bard (Max Ironston), telling stories of a great alchemist who once left the island of Almas to prove that alchemy could do anything magic could do. Seeing the young alchemist at the bar, this bard would eventually make his way over to him and they would end up drinking all night, talking about the fantastic feats of alchemy the bard had witnessed across the lands.
In the morning, Hans woke up, surprisingly without a hangover, and his adventure as a "Hero of the Spire" began.
