The heroes make their way down into The Spire, encountering deadly spiders and an undead priest, who slays Caen.

The group returned to The Spire, fighting a group of goblins to gain access to the stairwell leading below. Thankfully, the magical darkness ended at the stairs, and they were able to make their way down to the next level, which was lit up with random partches of harmless glowing moss. This level proved to be difficult to traverse, as there were several traps stocked with magical spiders that could create clouds of mist, as well as turn into gas clouds themselves, and had poison fangs. They seemed also to be able to operate the trap doors, allowing them to trap people in spiked pits and consume them. The group was able to make their way through this level, and eventually did battle with a skeletal priest and his undead minions, and in this battle, Caen Borland was slain. They took what treasure they found, and buried him outside the spire.
