    Howling Mountain Passes
    Construction beginning/end

A series of soldier stations has been build over the past few years in the major passes in the Alps between southern Frankia and northern Italy. This is due to strange & ferocious howls carried on the winds in this part of the Alps. A few people & groups have disappeared here. Tracks of large clawed humanoid creatures and drag marks of bodies are regularly found. Patrols have been increased to try to work out what has happened.

Cursed Region East of Old Saxony
    Civil action

Reports have started to come in from long range / overland traders that have contact with the tribal groups east of Old Saxony. They have noticed an increase in the actions of undead military operations throughout their own territories and further east. This is something worrying to us as well, and may need intervention on our part.   Also, they report increased Dark Fey activity especially around forests close to the south east of the Baltic Sea and close to the border of the Saxon lands. Exactly what is going on is unknown at present. The only information from our spies is that the region between the east Saxons & western Slavs in that area has seen an increase in the number of what they refer to as Hexbloods. What these are is, again, unknown to us. We may have to capture one to study further.

The Saxon War started in the year 800 AD after the Franks decided to attack the Saxons in Old Saxony as they had continued to carry out raids into Frankia. Also, they had killed two Roman Catholic missionaries, and refused to covert to Christianity. Ass well as that, the Franks had burned down a tree that belonged to the Saxons that was their main religious symbol for the whole nation.

    Metaphysical / Paranormal event

Two mercenaries called Grimmaz Fyrwin & Fleec Snow, were sent to a valley in the Central Massif believed to be cursed. After finding the remains of the old Roman fort, they examined the caverns below. Deep down a strange set of figures appeared mummified by extreme age with strange growths attached & growing over the underground town they found. A large strange skeleton was found against one wall, and steps leading down to a strange alter with an amber 'sarcophagus' on it. After dealing wit the necromancer & some Troglodytes that were there, the team dumped the sarcophagus into a pit of lava to one side. Upon looking at the town they found an old library missing a book, and a humanoid creature that looked as if cut open, a being claiming to be a member of the Order of the Gash. They reported this to the authorities in Parisius, and gained some respect with a group of Wood Elves & Celts near the valley.

    Battle of Aachen
    Military: War

The Battle of Aachen was a short brief battle between the Franks & their allies (including a Grimmaz Fyrwin & a turncoat Saxon called Willhelm), against a horde of Saxons & their own allies. The latter was a force of skeletons, zombies & two wights being used to test the defences of the Franks. Short and relatively bloodless, at least for the Franks, it was quickly over. It marked the first time in decades if not centuries a dragon was part of the Frankish force, at least temporarily.

All the while, the number of assassinations & thefts increase, along with stories of parties of strange human / serpent hybrids are reported by many Bedouin, soldiers & civilians from old out of the way places making for the north.

A number of authorities bordering the Bohemian Massif has sent troops into the region after a number of disappearances of trade caravans, lumberjacks and charcoal burners has occurred. Usually found in the northern end of the Massif, it is suspected that the ruined old city found there, and a suspected fallen star, is to blame. The old city of Lindwurm has always had a strange disturbing reputation so it is suspected that they have something to do with the disappearances. No evidence has been found so far, even with the disappearance of some of the bands of troops that have entered the forests there.

A break-in occurred in the Merchants Quarters area of Wien. The only thing seems to have been taken is a bunch of supposedly cursed dolls & toys, and nothing else. The story says that they belonged to a child of a local merchant whose whole family mysteriously died during a string of bizarre accidents. The child was placed in a sanitorium run by the local Roman Catholic church, where years later she still stays, afraid the toys will return to her to finish her off. The last anyone has heard is that the dolls & toys are being moved to Parisius to be studied by the Le' Merchand family & their Gnome contactsin the off-chance there is some type of mechanical device in them. A rumour persists that these have disappeared recently in the vicinity of the townland of Eschbach.
