ser Maralynn Slait
Seneschal ser Maralynn Slaite
Maralynn Slait was born in 420KS in The Shale, the second of three children born to ser Tacy and Antorn Slait.
Like her older brother Elton, she began squiring as soon as she was considered old enough, becoming the Squire of ser Dannis Woolfield, her mother's Castellan. Ser Dannis knighted her eight years later in 437KS, mere days after her brother had been knighted.
Three years later the country was plunged into war with The Kingdom of Irogonie. Ser Maralynn rode to war alongside her mother and ser Dannis, while ser Elton was left in charge of The Shale. She was the only member of her household to return from the war.
The following year, while recovering from her experiences in the war, her brother became a member of Sola's Vanguard, becoming involved first in investigating the attacks on ser Sola Somercrag, then her death, and finally joining ser Tyon Cray's cause in The Revolution of 441KS. Ser Maralynn acted as her brother's Steward while he was at war.
In October 443KS she was approached by Curtass Strong, the Chancellor of the newly landed House Hewlett of Greater Stallken, to fill the position of Seneschal for the house. With her brother's blessing she accepted, and moved to South Stallken.
in 445KS ser Maralynn married ser Robart Epper, who she met through her younger sister ser Tiyana Epper's marriage to his older brother ser Kartis Epper. In 448KS they welcomed their first children, twins Ragnor and Aurola, followed in 450KS by Branwinn and finally in 453KS by Kartis.
As House Hewlett continued to secure themselves in the formerly bandit-controlled territory of Greater Stallken (formerly Old Caulstid), ser Maralynn proved to be a valuable asset, and was promised the settlement of Selsa's Reach once it was established enough to support her family.
In 454KS ser Maralynn and her husband were amongst the House Hewlett knights called to fight in The War For The Foxworth Secession 454KS on the side of The Crown. They fought first at the successful defence of Conbridge, then in skirmishes along the shore of Westlake. Later they stormed Nordbank as part of an attack on an alliance between House Hayford of Haycastle and House Brume of The Green. Finally, they were involved in the fighting on the fringes of Wyldwood where Duke Edgarth Hayford was struck down, leading to the surrender of the Secessionists.
