Timeline of the History of the Kingdom of Hillhurst
Hillhurst is a secondary landmass off the North-Western coast of The Continent of Greland, separated by The Hurst Channel. The ruling The Merchant Queens of Hillhurst also currently boast control of 3 of the 4 islands in the Hurst channel.
Hillhurst is dominated by The Boxsart Hills, a small mountain range, which divide it in half along its length. The side toward the Hurst channel is well protected between the mountains and the coast of Greland, but is mostly rocky and barren. The far side is greener, and fed by several small rivers, but also flatter and more exposed to the elements and flooding of The Dancing Sea.
The people of Hillhurst are great seafarers and traders, motivated by necessity driven by the inhospitable lands they hail from. They are also frequent emigrants, settling across Greland and beyond at a much greater rate than any of the other kingdoms. It is often said that "everyone is from Hillhurst, but no one lives there." Despite this there are several settlements on Hillhurst, though its capital is Latchcastle, a fortified trading city on one of the islands in the Hurst channel.
