Forbridge

Forbridge is a city in Southern Irogonie. Since the end of The Irogonie Aggression in 440KS and the subsequent surrendering of land to the peoples of The Lamas Plains it has sat on the border with the Plainsfolk, with the Western half of the city under their control and the Eastern half remining under the control of the Irogonians.

The city is named for the four bridges which span The River Quick.

Districts

Legally the city is divided where The River Quick passes through it. The Eastern half of the city is still under the authority of The Kingdom of Irogonie and Dualism, while the Western half is considered to be part of The Lamas Plains. However, over a decade after the city was partitioned, the people who live in Western Forbridge are still predominately Irogonian Dualists.

Points of interest

Hengsbach's Bridge is the largest of the city's four bridges, connecting the central square of each half of the city. It is so wide that it supports a terrace of buildings on either side of the walkway. Once these buidlings would have been home to some of the most profitable buildings in the city thanks to the constant flow of people between the two banks of the Quick. Now, however, many are abandoned, boarded up. Some have been converted into crowded slum-like accomodation - especially on the East side of the city, to house those who have fled the West side. Nowadays the most common sight crossing Hengsbach's Bridge is patrols of Irogonian soldiers.

On the Eastern Bank is a small walled area called the Old City, which dates back to the first settlement in this place, hundreds of years ago. In the centre of this is an old stone keep which has been converted to a Dualist church.

A recent addition, a massive Blackstone Cathedral also sits within Northerly part of the Eastern half of the city. It is the seat from which Governor Cacilia Finsternis rules the city.
