Geigerport City

The capital of Geigerport is one of the smallest of the great cities of Chronan, in part due to the fact that many of the state's major institutions are located elsewhere. The main base of the Origo Fleet as well as the Metropolite's palace are in Blitzeng, and even the cathedral dedicated to Aegias-Meteo far south on Barambu Island, making Geigerport the only capital to have only seven temples.   The city was built on the delta of several rivers leading into the Bablitz Riverlands. The rivers were in time directed into canals, between which the seven districts or "quarters" of the city were connected by bridges. The society there greatly enjoys arts, music, balls and masquerades. These two facts have earned it its nicknames, "the City of Bridges" and "the City of Grace".   Because of the canals, the streets are too narrow for steam wagons, so much of the transportation in the city is made by boats. Since there is no air brigade in the state, the city has only a small aerodrome dedicated to Kreusstross, the god of technology. There is a rail track leading out of the aerodrome towards Tungsten Hills, and there are plans to connect it with the railway system of Parcivale.   Most of its population are humans, with a decent amount of hill dwarves, halflings and half-orcs present. There is even a quarter inhabited mostly by full orcs and goblinoids. The current Metropolite of Geigerport is the first half-orc to rule a state after Saint Zuut, one of the Eight Prophets that founded the Eight States. Her influence is why orcs have gained legal recognizition in the capital. Lately, the harbor has also brought in many immigrants from the Freeisles returning to their roots after many generations in exile after the Great War Between Order and Chaos.
