Allen Minx Animal

The Minx House is one of the Ten Houses of the Kingdom of Accia, a noble family which is considerably more influential after their conquest of Penglai Shan--a success which took a hefty toll. Like the Scylla House, their magic form mimics their namesake, taking on characteristics of the Scath Minx. Meanwhile their second Kaithur is usually some kind of elemental Aura, especially from Flithmar or Beranok. Their House originates from and oversee the lands of the Tenebrous Chain, parts of Alkelbulan and large swaths of Zhongguo.

Both during their campaign in Alkelbulan and especially in Yaxiya, the Minx set themselves apart as aerial warriors known for their ferocity and for their loyalty to the crown. They have strong ties to the the Cel Tradat by blood, do business with the Scylla along their eastern borders and trade extensively with the Espina. They have had an ongoing rivalry over the position of leading the Aerial Division with the Aquila and Cel Tradats but have mostly kept this honorable. In recent years, their current matron Evelyn Minx has taken a strong stance against the Chevalier. She has gone as far as to expose their malpractice as beast tamers and the corruption of their governance in northern Alkelbulan, allying herself with the Scylla in this matter. In general, Evelyn has guided and managed the Minx House with precision and grace since the death of her husband.

Most notable has been the career and conquests of their current Duke Allen Minx in the Zhongguo campaign, officially securing their victory over the Si Xiang, which has left their House awash in extensive territorial gains. These are split mainly between the Minx House and the Stahlmann House but the scale is greatly tipped in the Minx's favor. But the largest question in everyone's minds is: who will inherit these territories? For nearly two decades the Minx House has gone without an heir, many politicians plotting their future on the decay of this House. That is until Tia Minx has arrived on the political scene, thrashing apart the schemes and expectations of ambitious nobles. Everyone is waiting to see how she will grow or if she will fall.

Background

The Minx hail from the Lacuna Heath, perched high above the umbral forests, mystic caves and dreary marshes of the Tenebrous Chain! Angli in descent, they were among many noble families and clans warring over the few safe regions of the Chain. These livable regions not overwhelmed by dark magic were in high demand, the Angli ever pushing against the Daoine for control of its peaceful valleys and sprawling pastures. In the end, the Minx allied themselves with the Syltharis king who reunited the Kingdom of Accia, giving them the edge and authority to rule their mountains uncontested once and for all! Their competitive background has remained throughout generations, earning the Minx a powerful political and military presence. But now, after suffering grave losses, they are on the brink of extinction!

Chain Heathlands

Duke Minx, Allen and Titus

The last duke, Titus Minx, lacked the Angli background typical of the Minx House. He was originally a Storm Viking chieftain in Thorreyjar, Skaney--a chaotic landscape isolated from the kingdom! He was captured by Evelyn in her youth, enamoured by her strength and deemed a favorable match by her thanks to Beranok's Aura. He took on the Minx name, equally impressed with the strength of the kingdom as he was with his wife's passion. But all of their shared dedication to the strength of their House melted away in the face of the kingdom's brutal campaign against Zhongguo, claiming the lives of all but two of their children! And of these two, one swore he would never marry and disappeared from the political scene for two decades while the second suffered an injury which left her infertile. Now the Ten Houses are scrambling to reassess the future of this illustrious house, the Chevalier in particular being hungry for influence, redemption and revenge against Eveyln Minx.

All had assumed the Minx family were doomed, prepared to grab up their lands and titles the moment Evelyn passed away. That is until their absent duke returned with an unexpected heir: Tia Minx! She is the sole Minx of her generation, brought up away from the kingdom in the celestial lands of Nippon. Raised without knowledge of her family history or about any of the kingdom's politics, Allen had intended for her to never set foot in Accia. That is until a civil war broke loose in the archipelago, forcing Allen and his family to flee to his homeland. Furthering the chaos of their journey, Tia's mother Mina has disappeared into the night and is unaccounted for. But worse still is a curse she received that night, a secret she is forced to keep as she is recruited into the Accian Military Training Program. Allen continues to do all he can with his position to look out for her, going to any length to protect his precious daughter--all that he has left! And despite her aunt Felicity's attempts to sever any connection to her family, she still finds herself Tia's flight instructor within AMTP, stirring old wounds. After all, the future of the Minx family rests on Tia.

Politics

Evelyn High Head

Despite Allen's absence, Evelyn has maintained a firm grip on court politics and has brilliantly managed their expansive territories--more aptly than most of her peers and far better than her late husband. Evelyn is extremely respected within the capital, marred only by her absent son and infertile daughter. Tia has instantly become her only hope but she is also a substantial political target, her existence dashing the ambitions of many a peer. Evelyn is currently trying to pass on her knowledge and tactics in leading the Minx House to her son and Allen has made his way back into King Ambrose's court, willing to do whatever it takes to regain the king's favor in order to better protect his daughter! Ambitious nobles stand against Allen and he must reclaim the skills and repute he once commanded. With his wife assumed dead and his position as Duke, remarrying is a tool he may be forced to utilize, a last resort he is unwilling to entertain.

Fallen Minx

When Evelyn finished her own military career, she and Titus had many children--Evelyn passionate to further serve her country by providing a new generation of Minx soldiers. A dedicated and doting mother, she had 17 children in total! Evelyn was very hands on with her childrens' education while Titus had little to do with them outside of court responsibilities and martial training. But even Evelyn became harsh and strict towards her children as her eldest children fell in battle, growing more and more severe with each loss. After all, what else did she need to do to prepare them properly? Allen was a middle child, old enough to remember his mother's compassion for his siblings but young enough to feel its absence. He was closest to his younger brother Darell, a year younger than Allen, the two of them mischievous and inseparable! But Allen himself grew harsher as the hopes of his family, the burdens of his position mounted. He became the shrewd, ruthless man the kingdom needed, a close friend of the prince, and pushed the campaign in Zhongguo to a head! In the end, he accomplished his goal but along the way, he lost each and every one of the siblings he was fighting for.

Amid the campaign against Zhongguo, the Aerial Division saw record fatalities thanks to the mountainous terrain of Yaxiya. Allen distinguished himself quickly through ambush tactics and keen strategy, becoming a General at an early age. But he was not the eldest Minx at the time, his brother Edmund staying on after the required age in order to look after his younger siblings! Edmund had become disillusioned with the kingdom long ago but he was endlessly loyal to his family. Darrell in particular had many close calls as he wasn't suited to fighting, making a better diplomat than a warrior, relying on his siblings to watch his back. Allen's elder sister Iris was also still in service, beloved by her peers and even engaged to then Prince Ambrose! She was the beating heart of the Minx family, particularly driven and inspiring, having her own dream for the future of the kingdom. In the end, she died to keep that future going! She died protecting Ambrose's life, forever dedicating him to uphold her sacrifice, her dream. And following Iris' sacrifice, an epidemic swept across the capital city of Accia, taking the lives of the king and both Titus and Mercy Minx.

Allen the Heartstopper

Qinglong

Everything came to a head amid the siege of Yanjing, climaxing in one final battle against the Si Xiang, the Battle of Longhu. The Zhou clan were their last defense, their royal guard, and Allen -hasty to draw the conflict to an end- made a direct assault on their palace at the foot of Penglai Shan. Hovering over a volcanic lake, these grounds were shrouded in a thick fog where the Zhou and their Qinglong familiars were at their strongest! Darrell, Edmund, Dawn and Wren, his final siblings aside from Felicity, joined him in this battle. Allen rushed ahead to face their clan leader, trusting Edmund to look out for their younger siblings. Unfortunately, Edmund and Dawn fell so the rest could retreat. But not wanting to abandon Allen, Darrell and Wren push ahead to warn Allen about the enemy's trap. Wren dies along the way and, in the end, Darrell takes the brunt of the Zhou trap meant for Allen, allowing Allen to claim victory... at the greatest cost. This was the bloodiest battle of Allen's career, and his last.

Allen lost all faith, all loyalty the kingdom in the wake of his losses. His only remaining sibling was his littlest sister who he mysteriously avoided at every turn. And when Allen departed for Nippon, all of Evelyn's harrowing attention and expectations fell onto Felicity. Felicity chafed under her mother's guidance and, after losing her fertility to an injury and finding no love from her brother, cut ties with the entire family once and for all and dedicating her life as an instructor in the Accian Military Training Program! Evelyn was left alone and as empty as her once bustling manor. She had turned her attention to other ventures, rooting out corruption amid her peers and pursuing animal activism--anything to fill the hole in her life. That is, until finally, her son returned some hope to her life: Tia. Only time will tell if she can learn from her mistakes or if Tia is bound for the same horrific path. Some believe the Minx are cursed but only Tia can prove otherwise.
