Daoine (deen-ya)
A subethnicity of the Eluzian group. This is the largest ethnic group of the Tenebrous Chain alongside the Angli. The Minx House is Angli and rules over this region under the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Accia and the Ten Houses. Most Daoine speak or recognize Gaeilge but all citizens of the kingdom are required to speak Accian, which is typically their first language.
They are true natives of the the Chain, survivors of Zalikar's Vengeance, and are among the few people's capable of navigating and dwelling within the Cryptic Karst. Most Daoine live either in small villages, in the mines on the isle off the coast or are members of bandit clans living within the caves of the the Chain. These bandits are seen as tricksters and criminals, earning the name siabhra, faeries, for their ability to disappear into earth and shadow. They possess rare and powerful dark racial magic, utilizing this to get by despite their desolate abodes. They themselves have taken on this faery label and call their caverns the Otherworld. Most of these clans speak Gaeilge and possess a strong dialect even when they speak Accian, their lifestyle insulatory.
