Accia

The Kingdom of Accia takes its namesake from their capital itself, Accia. This city was originally the home of the Erlithmanil but after their downfall, Sylthari and Accia Syltharis repurposed this grand, floating city as the capital of their newfound kingdom. They also renamed the city after their king, the god slayer. While the city itself is named Accia, most citizens will refer to the city as the capital and their country simply as the kingdom. When necessary, the official terminology for their country is The Kingdom of Accia. The capital belongs to the Syltharis royal line. The Ten Houses administer the lands granted to them by the crown but Accia has always belonged to the Syltharis line after the Downfall of the Erlithmanil.

Accia is located in the center of Eluziar at the heart of the Eluzian Valley. Another walled city has formed beneath Accia, an artisan town focused on providing goods for the wealthy residents above. A less formal layer lays outside the stone walls of the artisan town where those of the surrounding farmland gather for a market of their own. Most of the staff working in the manors or other establishments of the capital live in this outer layer. After all, people gather where the money is!

Within this lofty floating city, the castle is at the very center and there are ten massive manors aligned around the edges. The rest of the city is designed for leisure or are public buildings such as the colosseum and library. There are concert halls, restaurants, spas, bathhouses, theaters. These were originally constructed for the leisure and entertainment of the Erlithmanil, repurposed by the kingdom and updated when necessary.

Accia was constructed of the same, seamless white stone, embellished with gems and metals seemingly embroidered into the stonework. A hidden spring pours from within the castle, both this water and the crystalline aquafers which guide it having a celestial glow, blessed by Sylthari herself. These ethereal flow out into the rest of the city before being scattered to the winds. Wide open spaces and gardens bufferr the harsh white stone, the city nearly blinding in its beauty.

The city owes its beauty to the Erlithmanil themselves, crafted by their combined effort. The kingdom has added enchantments of their own over the years but it floats naturally, maintaining a specific height regardless of its location. The city can only be moved by one with divine blood, an Erlithmanil or Aethid, but a gathering of divine descendants might also manage to move it, perhaps.

Defenses

Accia can only be accessed by a lift, the rest of the city protected by glyphs, enchantments and other forms of True Magic. The lift was created by Sylthari, working with various mages, so that any human could access the city through this mechanism. It works in conjunction with a staff which is placed into a crevasse in the center to activate the lift like a key. Over the centuries, other enchantments have been added to better protect the city. The most notable of these overlays the barrier the Erlithmanil crafted to protect the city from erosion and decay. This barrier makes it impossible for anyone to fly into the city unless they carry a specific charm or possess Syltharis blood. This even blocks all but the rarest Step manifestations! Most peculiar are the effects placed on the city when the Erlithmanil built Accia. One of these effects, laced into the foundations of the city, is that there is no decay in Accia! Food, bodies and plant matter will not rot, forever frozen. Special care must be taken by inhabitants and, more often, their staff in regards to waste.

History

While the city of Accia currently serves as the capital of the kingdom which has taken on it's namesake, the city was originally crafted by the Erlithmanil to act as their home and base of operations. Each of these entities has a Seat of their own which serves as a more private and personal residence but this city was where the Erlithmanil would come together and, when it suited them, live together. They were able to move this city wherever they pleased, watching over humanity from this lofty settlement.

The Downfall of the Erlithmanil occurred at the close of a Quiris-Hellenes empire and as such, its last location before becoming repurposed was atop the tallest peak in Hellas. As the sacred city of the gods, any human residents were only the most devout or favored of humanity, faithful servants and champions. The castle was the home of the Dark King Zalikar, the Luminescent Queen Lithmor and then Celestial Princess Sylthari. Each of the remaining eight Erlithmanil constructed a home of their own within the city. The rest of Accia was divided up between temples, luxury and entertainment fascilities for these entities, leaving only a small portion of the city for their followers to reside in.

Accia was mainlythe craft of Ylithuum under Lithmor's guidance. Rylis granted the city flight and the rest of the elements worked together to craft both a barrier and general protective effect. The city was protected from outside erosion, weather or damage as the eons passed. Ferith lit a fire within the throne room which would burn, fuelless, and never die while Wylrith created a spring within the heart of the castle which flows out into the rest of the city. Sylthari would later replace the aquifers with syltharian crystal, as well as other various decorative features of the castle, and bless the spring with her celestial glow. Finally, Zalikar cleared a secret library underneath the castle, separate from the official royal library, and stored his favorite lost knowledge here. When Sylthari was born, he brought her here and she decorated every surface with a gleaming map of their galaxy. Only Sylthari and Zalikar know the way inside.
