Ural'skaya Belt
Along the northern border of the Eluzian Valley and running up along the northeastern coast of Eluziar, a jagged mountain range stretches across the land in harsh thin ridges. Unlike the Tenebrous Chain, this range is characterized by its jagged strips of stone—the result of plates crashing together and further carved by passing glaciers. Ural'skaya and the taigas which skirt out from it are the defining features of Rossiya, the northernmost territory of Eluziar before the land gives way to tundra and frozen desert. Rossiya is governed by the Morozov House, one of the The Ten Houses of the Kingdom of Accia.
These mountains were altered Ylithuum in the Era of Legends and is vibrantly rich with metals and minerals. There are entire regions of Rossiya incorporated with metal, incredible monuments jutting out from the earth, gilded with ores, alloys or raw elements. The northern, arctic regions even have metal worked into its glaciers which carve the earth as they move. While Ural'skaya is most known for its mountain ridges and alpine taiga, the majority of the land is actually taken up by expansive plains and plateaus with cold marshland and lowland interspersed between them.

The Kingdom of Accia relies on Rossiya and the forests south of Ural'skaya for most of their lumber and ore. Further north, the land gives way to rolling tundra before the Verglas Ridge separates Eluziar from the Frozen Wastes. The Russkie people ruling Rossiya subside on the mines, the forest and, in more rural reaches, hunting and pastorialism. These lands are not as fertile as the valley but some of the smaller villages that dot these mountains still farm on smaller scales. Most inhabitants possess racial magic which better aids them with mining, logging or to withstand the harsh colds of the northern reaches. Martor magic is the most common in Ural'skaya but blessings from Iska, Gokmar and Lunil are also common.
Regions
Sometimes called the Clangorous Pass, this pass was designed by both Ylithuum and Rylis, influenced most by their aspects Sonildaz and Martor. Great pillars of metal, varying in shape and size jut into the pass and nearly touch. When the earth shakes, as it often does in Ural'skaya, these structures clang together like a latticework of tuning forks! Unfortunately, while smaller quakes are pleasant and unforgettable, large earthquakes can be earsplitting.

Within the heart of Ural'skaya, a massive cavern is host to a city hewn from diamond. Almazov was once a thriving megapolis, acting as Ylithuum's home in Eluziar and tended to by those devoted to her worpship. The entire city from its buildings to its streets is crafted of diamond of every color. Most impressive is an elaborate palace and throne. Even after Ylithuum was sealed away, a handful of societies have used these caverns as their capital. Even Rossiya once had a tsar which occupied the diamond throne. |
