Frozen Wastes

At the northernmost reaches of Emynea lies the Frozen Wastes as most tend to call it. Ordinarily, little to no life could be sustained here but with blessings from the Erlithmanil many beasts, beings and plants call these arctic lands home. Without these blessings, this region is far too inhospitable to traverse at all. Despite the name, these lands are thriving with life. The wastes are divided up into many different countries and peoples unrecognized by the outside world as the waste-landers avoid interacting with outsiders. Only a few cities and peoples have been deemed trustworthy enough to trade with. They stay out of global politics as well, their largest cities built in the deepest confines of the wastes.

Emynea's version of the "silk road" runs through the Frozen Wastes and touch each continent of the northern hemisphere of Emynea. The people of the wastes facilitate trade of rare and even black market goods in exchange for items not available in their own home. Unfortunately, this has led to poor reputation of the waste landers, creating a culture of mutual distrust and ill opinion. Still, their few trade partners thrive on the goods they offer. The wastes connect to Eluziar, Yaxiya and Ilnid's section of Alkelbulan. They even connect to a continent completely unknown to Accia, one most believe to be a hoax. This continent lies beyond Vekaltor's Doldrums, protected fiercely by a handful of Aethids.

Within the Frozen Wastes, Wylrith - Water's Seat lies inside a chamber far beneath the ice at the north pole, connected by deep sea tunnels as well. Only Wylrith's host or Rain can access this chamber.

Geography

Taiga, tundra, frozen deserts and glacial mountains make up the bulk of these arctic lands but this doesn't limit the diversity of flora, fauna and natural (or elemental) wonders. There are also many bodies of water either underneath layers of ice or moving along frozen rivers. Still, ice is the primary feature wherever one goes in these lands and some plants and lifeforms incorporate or even comprise of this material.

Ecosystem

The lifeforms that call these lands home are diverse, thriving in great numbers despite how outsiders might imagine. Rich ecosystems thrive in each environment as do the people who call these lands home.
