Wylrith is the element of water and is among the ten Erlithmanil. Their blessings are among the most common and, depending on environment, vital. They are both revered and feared as a deity. Wylrith is also genderfluid, their gender identity shifting day by day. As a close ally and friend of Zalikar, Wylrith is one of the few beings he actually trusts. Like all of the Erlithmanil, Wylrith has five Aspects which are an expression of their personality, mind and element. These aspects are Ithisda, Iska, Vapri, Siryl and Lothvem. Ithisda is liquid water, Iska is cold and ice, Vapri is water vapor, Siryl is sea and Lothvem is love and tranquility. As one might expect, Wylrith is equally adaptable as their element and their personality or mood shifts depending on environment. They can be peaceful, tranquil and aloof but they can also be ruthless, abysmal or frigid. They are the counterpart of Ferith, embodiment of fire. While Wylrith is often attributed as a force of creation and life, their fury can be savage and unpredictable like the sea or the harshest blizzard. Their mysterious, distant mannerisms easily instills fear as the sea holds many mysteries. During the Era of Legends, Wylrith focused much of their magic into Yaxiya, Suwarnadwipa and the Frozen Wastes, especially essential to underwater settlements. Yet their blessings are spread out widely across all of Emynea, found in nearly every region. Water magic is one of the most common alongside light, earth, air and fire magic. There are many claims and speculations of where Wylrith's Seat is located as there are many appropriate potential locations but only Wylrith and their familiar truly know. Rain Character \| Nov 18, 2024 Like the other elements, Wylrith is seeking an appropriate host body after their own divine body was destroyed. Their familiar is Rain whose original form was that of a Dhole. Much like the other familiars, Rain makes good use of his shape shifting to take on whatever animal form is most appropriate at the time and, as a part of the pact, possesses raw water magic and a draconic form. He scours Emynea for a suitable body, currently serving a new Shape Shifter partner who is a member of Ilnithic and undercover alongside Lily Desjardins in the Accian Military Training Program!

Appearance

Male or female and of whatever subethnicity, Wylrith is generally tall, slender and lithe. Suitable to the embodiment of love, the sea and ice, they are physically elegant, sensual and appealing if not mysterious and alluring: a picturesque, gentle beauty. Much like Lithmor, they also enjoy collecting beautiful clothing especially finely crafted Yaxiyan silks. Long robes with delicate embroidery and ethereal gauze often drape their slender body like flowing water! Wylrith frequently shifts their appearance depending on the region they are visiting or simply according to whim, even their gender flowing back and forth between feminine and masculine. They prefer a Yaxiyan appearance, varying from Bharata to Huaren to Han to Khalkh Monggol to Nihonjin and even peoples further north or south such as Wastelander, Bamar, Orang Indonesia, Chao Thai, Choncheate Khmer and Nguoi Viet! Out of all of the Erlithmanil, they shift around their appearance more than any other!

Abilities

Wylrith is the source of all five of their aspects—they are water itself, embodied. They can freely manipulate any of their aspects without limitation. They are also able to temporarily cut off a water caster from accessing their element, temporarily disabling their innate connection. However, Wylrith cannot permanently disconnect a caster and it takes concentration to maintain. They also retain the ability to create new water casters, temporary or otherwise. Wylrith can freely come and go from their elemental planes and exert control over them. They can be aware of anything occurring in these planes when shifting their awareness to them. However, most of these abilities are limited by whether or not they possess a host body. Without a physical body, all of their activity is limited to their planes and their separate aspects. Wylrith possesses all abilities and magic of their five aspects. These are freshwater, cold and ice, water vapor, sea and implosive force and emotions such as love and tranquility. Ithisda is literal water as most might envision, whether this is freshwater or watery solvents--it can even affect bodily fluids! Iska is the aspect of cold and ice, Wylrith able to endure and manipulate extremely cold temperatures and actual ice. Vapri is a versatile aspect, consisting of water vapors whether these take the form of clouds, fog, steam, mist or general humidity. Meanwhile, Siryl is the aspect of the sea which includes implosive force one might find at the bottom of the ocean. Last is Wylrith's sole mental aspect, Lothvem. Lothvem encapsulates emotions, thoughts and memories involving love, tranquility, affection, harmony, patience and other emotions which still the spirit.

Aspects and Elemental Planes

of Wylrith's aspects have their own elemental plane. Physical planes overlay and exist parallel to the physical world, connecting anywhere and everywhere an aspect occurs. For some planes, this is static while others constantly ebb and flow as the aspect occurs and moves. Mental planes instead connect to every mind of every cognizant species in Emynea, different planes connected to and storing the memories and thoughts related to certain emotions by aspect.

Personality

Wylrith is a being of extreme depth, tranquility and wisdom. They are very intelligent, sensible and empathetic but reserved. They can be distant and detached, cold even, especially when their buttons are pressed or they are overwhelmed. But if one can get them to open up, there is an incredibly alluring and enriching being underneath their icy armor. However, as mysterious and soothing as they can be there is also a terrific, unforgiving and abysmal harshness waiting to be unleashed. While ordinarily tranquil and peaceful, their wrath when triggered is absolutely crushing like deep sea waters. There are those who wonder if this is the source of Zalikar and Wylrith's similarities, as at their deepest depths is abysmal darkness. Whether this is the case or their mental aspect of love and tranquility is their true core no one knows.

Background

Wylrith has always been one of Zalikar's closest allies alongside Dalyeric. It was Wylrith who was nearly destroyed when the Erlithmanil ran out of magic, the humans turning on them once they had nothing left to give. This is what drove Zalikar to form a pact with Azryth, to restore the elements and to save Wylrith. It is a kindness Wylrith has never forgotten, even as it left their friend more embittered towards humanity than ever before, and the reason they feel they can never turn their back on Zalikar. There is a mutual respect driving their friendship too, alongside their beliefs inter-meshing, but they feel beholden nonetheless.

Morality

Among the elements, their values are far more neutral and complex—situational. They view each and every instance individually and make their decision not on one or two concrete ideals but by an array of conditions and potential consequences. Zalikar has always valued their input thanks to this rationality, tendency and adaptability. They will decidedly always have their allies back but they aren't afraid to argue their case and provide their point of view. They view the schism between the Erlithmanil as unsustainable and, hopefully, temporary.

Motivation

Accomplishments

Wylrith seeks to maintain the balance of nature in Emynea, alongside their allies. They know this is what Zalikar's highest priority whether he states so or not, trusting in him explicitly. However, they also know Zalikar can veer off path due to his bitter resent and distrust of the nature of man. They do all they can to keep him balanced.

They are proud to be able to say they have never betrayed Zalikar. They know he has suffered immense betrayals throughout his long existence and are determined never to add themselves to this list. This isn't to say they hold resentment for those who have turned their back on him, they are on agreeable terms with all of the Erlithmanil. They are also very proud of their children, Vekaltor and Rylmer. They try to make time for their children any time they have a host.

Relationships

Dalyeric sees themselves as Zalikar's right hand but Wylrith has always been his closest friend, never pushing the issue. They are both reserved by nature and enjoy the undemanding presence of the other. They know each other incredibly well after millenia of friendship and often don't even need to speak to communicate and can guess the others' reaction. It can be peculiar but also quite dull sharing a room with just the two of them. Wylrith is adaptable and undemanding, getting along with all members of the Erlithmanil. Only Ferith seems able to get underneath their skin which is why their occasional romance tends to surprise and confound all. It never lasts though as they are after all water and fire. He simply has an immense respect and awe for her passion, warmth and reliability while he is a soothing balm to her rage, mysterious and alluring. But it never works out.
