Vekaltor and Rylmer
(a.k.a. The Atmospheric Twins)
Rylmer and Vekaltor are twins as well as minor elements, Aethids. They are the children of Wylrith - Water, Rylis - Air and Raegeric - Energy. Rylmar is the element of storms and Vekaltor is the element of weather. Thunderstorms, blizzards, hurricanes, monsoons, hail, tornadoes. All extreme forms of weather fall under Rylmar and because of this, they command both fear and awe. Rylmer is also known to protect the oceans and coastlines of the continents yet untouched by Accia. Vekaltor on the other hand commands gentler weather such as rain, snow, fog and the like as well as clouds in general. Raegeric is rather proud of their parentage to these elements. While Rylmer is far more feared, Vekaltor is far more venerated and revered but they both prefer it this way. Many early cultures worship Vekaltor, relying on them to water their crops. Both of these minor elements play a vital role in nature.
Vekaltor and Rylmer have a fondness for the peoples beyond Banalkar's Throat who still venerate them heavily. They were once worshipped in Eluziar as well, but as cultures begin modernizing, they tend to pull away from worshipping these twin Aethids. This is another reason they have a preference for the lands south of Eluziar. Like Banalkar, they admire how these people live comfortably alongside nature rather than trying to place themselves above it. They also recognize the dangers of Accia spreading its influence too far and after they conquered Alkelbulan, they decided to work alongside Banalkar to keep Accia's influence from spreading further. Much like Malrot and Zuvaath, these twins also look up to and had a healthy relationship with their parents. They are particularly sour with Sylthari for sealing them away. These two will become more prevalent after the first two books.
