Ithisda Character in Emynea | World Anvil

Ithisda

(a.k.a. Liquid)

Ithisda is an aspect of Wylrith and is a physical aspect. It consists of liquid water and water based solvents. This is the most natural form of Wylrith's element and the primary form people traditionally imagine as water. The same can also be said for its counterpart, Flithmar, flame, aspect of Ferith, fire. The alternate forms of water such as ice and vapor fall under other aspects.

Ithisda's manifestations are fairly common throughout the world, especially in those making their home underwater or near large bodies of water. One of the largest examples of this is Bharat where most of the population lives within volcanic lakes north of Kunlun Shan.

Ithisda's Plane itself consists entirely of water. Currents move throughout the plane, overlaying the plane where instances of water in the physical world exist, always on the changing. There is no oxygen, but one can ride the currents either into the physical world as a portal, or to look through as a window. The clarity and effectiveness of these windows and portals depend on the amount of water present or the dilution of that water.

Racial Manifestation

When Wylrith gifted all lifeforms with their magic, each life form was capable of receiving two gifts. Each of these blessings would grant the lifeform a connection to a specific aspect and this connection could be utilized in a given way. These gifts were passed down to their descendants as well and eventually beings came to call these gifts Racial Magic. These are named by the aspect a caster is connected to and by how they can use it, how they manifest their connection.
