Musi Kongo
This region is home to the Abantu ethnic group or most notably the Bakongo people. Their megapolis was once the beating heart of a thriving empire, the Kingdom of Kongo. They ruled over the Musi Kongo and into Alkelbulan after the Downfall of the Erlithmanil, filling the power vacuum when the Mexica Empire was decimated by Accia Syltharis. However, that kingdom has faded and now the Abantu live in fragmented villages and nomadic tribes. They live a life intertwined with the thriving rainforest they call home. Otherwise known as Luxis' Cradle, this is a rainforest absolutely thriving with verdant and colorful plant life and a rich ecosystem. This was a beautiful and diverse region long before the Birth of the Erlithmanil but since their arrival the rainforest has been given a chance to flourish even further thanks to the addition of racial magic. However, to those without the proper adaptions or knowledge, it can also be quite dangerous. It is a competitive environment, chock full of powerful and crafty predators, cautious and reactive prey, invasive and horrifying parasytes and plant life unafraid to consume any resource, dead or alive.

The landscape of Musi Kongo is defined by it's ample network of rivers and a tropical rainforest bursting with life—hence it's popular moniker Luxis' Cradle. While the rivers of the Eluzian Valley are fed by Skaney as well, the majority of the immense rainfall from this stormy plateau pours into Musi Kongo which skirts it's southern end. The upper branches of Yggdrasil can even be spotted from Ntima-Kongo, the ancient capital of the once mighty Kingdom of Kongo.
This tropical rainforest, generously fed by waters overflowing from Skaney, also straddles the southern edges of the Tenebrous Chain which separates Musi Kongo from the Eluzian Valley. The Chain is a cold and treacherous mountain range most Abantu won't venture anywhere near, believing these peaks cursed. Musi Kongo connects to Alkelbulan along a narrow western strip but are otherwise hugged by sea on all other sides, linking to the Continent Beyond along their southernmost point, the Isthmus of the Huntsman. Mexica borders their easternmost shores, separated by a wide river.

Ecosystem
Musi Kongo has by far one of the richest ecosystems in Emynea only outdone by jungles in the Continent Beyond, absolutely overflowing with vibrant species. This rainforest was a favorite of Fliral and her blessings are highly concentrated to this region. It is for this reason perhaps the Abantu live a life so intimately interwoven with this rich ecosystem. Musi Kongo's climate is sub-tropical along its borders with the Chain but rapidly grow more tropical further south. Rain is almost constant, storms from Skaney feeding into the rainforest alongside many rivers while a thick fog swallows their coasts. Vekaltor and Rylmer patrol these waters and repel any invasions by sea, divinely protected by the Atmospheric Twins themselves!
