Aquila
One of the Ten Houses of the Kingdom of Accia and are quite influential. Their family is famous for their magic, a particular version of Besida's Form which grants them the features of a golden eagle. Ordinarily, they are prone to Yrisni's Blades or some other similar form but after marrying a member of the Stahlmann House their heir has inherited Martor's Body. Specifically, Martia Aquila is able to convert her whole body into titanium. The Aquila family has watched over the Flumen Pontem of the Fulgurant Mesa alongside the Cato House, competing with each other for their title until recently.
This House has gained considerable power and influence by allying themselves with the Stahlmann House via marriage, a considerable political alliance which has skewed the power balance amid the Ten Houses. Duke Marcus Aquila married Duke Gunther Stahlmann's sister, Millicent Aquila. While this was a political match originally, the pair grew to respect and even love each other over time. Millicent recently passed away and Marcus still grieves his loss, grateful for the handful of children she has left him, Martia being the pride of their efforts.
The most unfortunate and unforseen drawback to this considerable union is the threat of the Aquila House being consolidated into the the Stahlmann House, of becoming assimilated and losing their distinction as the kingdom seeks to rope in outside political figures into their own system as the kingdom expands. They are fighting to prove their worth as their own entity, most of this pressure landing squarely on their Heir's shoulders. Aside from the Stahlmann-Aquila alliance, the Aquila House also has a strong and partially reliant relationship with the Aydem House as well as both their neighbors and clients. On the other end, they have a healthy rivalry with both the Minx and Cel Tradat Houses competing for leadership of the Aerial Division. They have tenuous relationship with the Chevalier House, both suffering from attacks from those living atop the mesa but the Aquila House finds the Chevalier dishonorable by nature, something they struggle to tolerate.
The Aquila call Flumen Pontem home alongside the Cato House. These two houses once competed for possession of the duchy but, when the House of the Festering Peninsula receded from the kingdom this rivalry became unnecessary. Each of these families possess significant influence and play integral roles within the canyon. The Cato House runs the colleges, library and essentially all academic and artistic spheres in this influential city while the Aquila House owns the many mines, the colosseum and even handle guarding the city and trade routes. In fact most military, athletic and even training programs within this city are handled by the Aquila House. One of the few military training academies, preparing youths to join AMTP from an even younger age, is funded and overseen by the Aquila House.
