Cato Organization in Emynea | World Anvil

Cato

One of the Ten Houses of the Kingdom of Accia and one of two Houses overlooking the Flumen Pontem of the Fulgurant Mesa. They work alongside the Aquila House, once having competed for control but now overseeing the canyon co-operatively. They are famous for inheriting various Sonildaz and Yrisni abilities, particularly Sonildaz's Aura and Manipulation. Occasionally, even Charnos magic will surface. They are excellent members and even leaders of the Enhancement Division.

When comparing them to the other Houses, they aren't as well positioned or assured to maintain their position as much as they had in the past. As the kingdom has expanded, they are no longer the optimal choice for support roles as they had been in the past. However, they still contribute to the kingdom considerably in the fields of academia and art, funding and overseeing the various colleges, libraries and the like which produce incredible scholars and mages. Unfortunately, their current heir Sirius Cato isn't particularly ambitious as a politician despite being a skilled musician and easygoing nature. Despite this, he is still dedicated to his position and will do whatever it takes to hold his family's reputation in place. The Catos still possess strong alliances with the Aquila and Aydem Houses.

The Cato House shares Flumen Pontem with the Aquila House. While the Aquila oversee the militant, athletic and mining facilities and organization of the canyon the Cato own and oversee all academic and artistic facilities. Like most residents of the canyon, their ancestors migrated into the canyon after the
Downfall of the Erlithmanil when the empire that supported/served them fell apart. Cut off from their cousins in the northeastern valley and the isles off this coast, they maintained their culture despite the passing of the centuries which their cousins fell away from. This family is a patron of the arts and are considered revolutionary when it comes to advancements in magic, art and academia. Their city even appears almost modern thanks to their enchantments.
