The Fae Court

Structure

The Fae court is a congregation of the leaders of various tribes who meet regularly. All members are considered equal, except for Oberon and Titania, who are considered to be of no tribes and are a neutral party presiding over the congregations to keep order.

Culture

The Fae court believes that grievances can be solved in an orderly manner. They do not believe in blood lines dictating leadership, but rather each tribe chooses their own representatives based on qualifications for each position. Sometimes, this does mean bloodlines hold titles for generations.

Public Agenda

The Fae court's motive is to resolve issues and keep the peace between the tribes, preventing them from fighting with each other like barbarians.

Assets

Each member of the court holds their own assets, however, they have collectively decided to cache certain things within the stores of the Winter Court, such as excess food, weapons, and goods that can be traded.

History

The Fae court was established shortly after the beginning of the ten year storms as a means to find a way to deal with them. During these meetings, other problems would arise and the others acted as impartial judges to lead to resolutions. From there, the tribal leaders based the foundation of their shared society. All disputes between tribes would be taken to the council. They sought out ideal locations and found both the husk of a great tree and it's fallen children and the remains of an ancient Dwarven fortress. These became the foundations for the The Summer and Winter Courts. The titles of Oberon and Titania were established shortly after the court, appointing dutiful Fae to the positions.    When war with the southern folk of the desert first broke out, leadership changed hands. An Oberon and Titania were elected with the specialization of combat with these people. The clans banned together to repel the invaders, but suffered shortly after from their own laws and leadership that was not prepared for the problems of everyday life. And thus the Oberon was appointed to act in times of War and the Titania in times of peace. Other titles were devised, such as the Arbiters, who would try and pass judgement upon Fae who broke the laws of the realm.

Disbandment

The Fae court fell to a campaign lead by Hadrick Steelheart shortly after his marriage to his wife. With the loss of leadership to his betrayal, the fae clans were enslaved one by one and subjugated. What remains of the court have become a rebel group, desperately seeking to regain their land and lives.
